Josefson is apparently an unrestricted free agent. I wouldn't mind seeing him back, but mainly because I think the alternative is seeing a guy like Coleman in the lineup, and that's just a downgrade. |

So I heard Yakupov wasn't qualified and will be a UFA. Should we sign him and try him out here because F it? We are always short on actual RW's it seems. |

Unless Quenville or Mcleod takes his spot. I wouldn't ideally want them on the fourth line. I think Mcleod has what it takes to grab that 3rd line C with Zacha on a wing. Which leaves maybe Quenville on the fourth. |

We can hope Mueller is a reasonable replacement for Merrill although Merrill has a lot more NHL experience so we'll have to wait to see. Regardless, even if Mueller is better then Merrill, the D still stunk. Need a real defender and we need Scott Stevens back to run the defense properly.
In 276 games over 7 seasons, JJ's put up 18 goals and 42 assists.
In 194 games over 5 seasons, BB put up 24 goals and 40 assists.
This isn't the stuff dreams are made of. |

I think it would be wise for the Devils to look at a few guys who weren't qualified. Yakupov is one. Maybe Pirri. It's likely another year out of the playoffs so gamble a little bit. |

Quenneville was drafted as a center, but he's a LW. He's played LW since his final season with Brandon (his center was Nolan Patrick). He's exclusively played LW in the NHL and I'm pretty sure he's spent a good amount of time at LW in the AHL. |

I'd be more inclined to gamble on Yakupov if the Devils weren't trash defensively both at forward and on the blue-line. |

I think the Devils should give Yakupov careful consideration given the Taylor Hall connection; maybe they can make a little club called the "Revenge against the Oilers".
Also not worried about BB's future role with the team. |

So with Shero and Haynes saying hischier has a spot on line 2-3 it makes me think if he will be used as a center or on the wing
Hall-zajac-palms

Wouldn't mind taking a shot at yak
Defense will be interesting, maybe kovy trade will help that |

Greene-Lovejoy
Moore-Severson
Mueller-Santini
Helgeson, Prout
Until Ray proves me wrong, that's our D. |

The idea that Prout will play another game in a Devils jersey fills me with dread |

I think McLeod slots in there. Q will be in competition with Speers in all likelihood |

They played great together, why would we bother drafting Patrick? |

Because Patrick's groin is going to explode in like a year. |

I'm afraid to see if we drafted the next great first overall bust or if they drafted the next guy to have a completely short injury riddled career. Hopefully neither. |

I think the whole "they played together in juniors" thing is overrated. We were all excited about reuniting Henrique and Hall last year and they barely ended up playing together. |

I would just replace dsp with Blandisi. Pre free agency that's how I see the lineup also. |

Please no to Yak. Unlesss it's a Gomez situation where he comes to camp unsigned but looking to make team.
Shero really needs to work some magic and find a quality 2nd line dman. Unfortunately I think this season we are going to start seeing Greenes game diminish. |

I think Yakupov is a good buy for a team looking to add a scoring winger, but in NJ's case, they're as bad defensively as they are offensively. So adding a guy who can't play defense and also isn't a sure thing to even be an impact player offensively is probably not a good fit. |

If Lindros couldn't get them a cup, I doubt Patrick changes that. We'll see. |

This year? Thought it started to show signs of diminishing last season |
